The Future
Apart from painting and making 2D and 3D pieces (which I will continue to exhibit and sell privately and through galleries), I would like to realise two major projects which I have been planning for some time.
Firstly
To collaborate with a car manufacturer to expand, enlarge and publicise my "people and technology" theme
Using the professional expertise in metal, fibreglass, chrome and structure, this would release these fabulous creatures, lifesize, into the wild, where they will enhance publicity, promotion, etc. With concern over extinction of species, why not sponsor some new ones to redress the balance! They could even be animated through film or dance to speak up for various causes such as bridging the gap between natural and man-made technologies, or to be spokesmen for the green awareness that engenders new perspectives - who knows how they might evolve...
Secondly
To collaborate with dance, film and choreographers to use the imagery and narative of my work with music and movement to bring it to life.
Through the expressive disciplines of movement and dance these inanimate objects might at last have a voice - We could hear their side of the story!
A whole new mythology is waiting to be born. Instead of battling with new technologies, we should incorpotate them into our ancient psyches via this intrinsic route where the body is the medium in the aesthetics in dance. It will be exciting to expand our emotional responses to include this new offshoot of life. Using electronic sounds and mimicry of the movements of the organic and inorganic would result in some very exciting and relevant work.
